Done Deal: Arsenal complete signing of Dani Ceballos.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at the Emirates Stadium and after an inconsistent start to life in north London, the midfielder became an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s side during the second half of the campaign.

Ceballos formed an impressive partnership alongside Granit Xhaka in the middle of the park and played a key role in helping Arsenal win their 14th FA Cup with excellent performances against Sheffield United, Man City and Chelsea.

The Spanish international returned to Madrid this summer but with a regular start spot in Zinedine Zidane’s side looking unlikely, Ceballos decided another loan move away from the Bernabeu was the best decision.

He had other offers to remain in La Liga but Arteta convinced Ceballos to return to Arsenal and the midfielder reportedly flew-in to North London on Thursday to undergo his medical and put the finishing touches on his move.

The formalities were swiftly completed and Arsenal confirmed on their official website on Friday night that Ceballos has now completed his move to the Emirates and has rejoined the club on another season-long loan from Madrid

How Arsenal can win at Liverpool, if Frank Lampard is in trouble at Chelsea and the fallout from Paul Pogba’s missed penalty – TACKLE KEOWN

We are only two games into the new Premier League season but already there are plenty of hot topics for MARTIN KEOWN to get stuck into.

This week the former Arsenal defender will tackle whether the Gunners can prove their top four credentials at LiverpoolChelsea‘s striking conundrum and the fall out from Manchester United‘s penalty farce.

Martin was speaking to KIERAN GILL.

What did you make of the fallout after Paul Pogba’s missed penalty?

At Arsenal, we knew who was on our penalties before kick-off because we’d nominate him. The boss would ask, ‘Who’s taking them?’ And most of the time, the honour went to Thierry Henry. So there was no confusion. If we won a penalty, the ball would go to him.

Maybe Marcus Rashford should have taken the spot-kick for Manchester United against Wolves. The England man had looked good all match and scored twice the week before. In the end, he didn’t. Paul Pogba took it, the goalkeeper saved it, and the game finished 1-1. That’s that. If you’re United, you move on to the next match, you look forward.

Next time, though, I’d like to see Rashford demanding he is the one who takes it. You wouldn’t get that ball out of Alan Shearer’s hands, after all.

The big-money move for Pepe places him above Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund for £56m in January 2018.

Last season, Pepe scored 23 goals in 41 games for the Ligue 1 side.
